Crochet Teddy Bear With Heart, Knitted Texture

Every loop of the surface is modelled individually, row by row, so the light sits in the stitches the way it sits in real wool. People reach for it expecting something soft and their face changes when they pick it up. That half second is the whole product, and it is the one thing a photograph cannot do for you.

Two sizes, and they are two different gifts

120 mm sits on a desk, a windowsill or on top of a wrapped present. It is the size you give instead of a card, and it costs about what the card and the flowers would have.

250 mm is the one that gets a permanent spot on a shelf. If you are hesitating between them for someone you like a great deal, it is the big one. Nobody has ever regretted the big one.

The heart says the thing so you do not have to

Valentine’s, an anniversary, a new baby, a get well, a sorry. What those have in common is that most people would rather not write the sentence down. The bear is already holding it, and unlike flowers it is still holding it next year.

Not a toy, despite appearances

This is a printed ornament with fine surface detail. It is not for a child who still puts things in their mouth, and it is not for the bath. It looks like a toy and it does a different job.

Looking after it

Dust it with a soft dry brush rather than a cloth, which snags on the stitches. Keep it out of direct sun and out of a parked car in summer, because PLA softens around 60 degrees.

What the stitches actually are

Every loop is modelled geometry, not a printed texture or a pattern sprayed on. That is why it holds up under a lamp and why the light sits down between the rows the way it does in real wool. It is also why it takes as long as it does.

How it is made

Modelled from scratch, printed here on our own machines, then cleaned up, finished and packed by hand. Nothing is outsourced and nothing is cast, so every piece carries faint layer lines and no two come out quite identical. We could sand those out. We would rather you could see it was made than see it was manufactured.

PLA, which is a corn-starch derived plastic. It is rigid, it holds fine detail better than almost anything else at this price, and it has one weakness worth knowing: it softens at around 60 degrees. A sunny windowsill in February is the one place it should never live.

Everything here is made to order. Nothing sits in a box waiting, which is why you are not paying for a warehouse. Order it and yours goes into the next batch, usually within a fortnight, and you are emailed when it goes on the bed and again when it ships.

Change your mind before it is printed and we refund it in full without asking why. After that you still have every right you have under Australian Consumer Law, which we cannot exclude and would not want to.
